Automatic dependency tracking with BLFS book

Moin,

Meanwhile it looks for me, that at least, if you want to build a universal Desktop PC System from the BLFS book, you'll need almost all the packages from the BLFS book anyway.
For each package, the BLFS book lists its dependencies - divided into required/recommended/optional.
Unfortunatelly i'm just able to express my whishes mostly in C, Assembler and a little VHDL but it looks like for someone fluently speaking xml/xls/perl/python/whatever-high-level-language it should be a piece of cake to extract from the BLFS-Book sources a proper list of the order in which to build all the necessary packages, including circular dependencies like freetype/harfbuzz or the whole gtk+-cairo-... mess.
Has anybody seen or done something like this yet?

Gruss
WK

No I havn't. But have you taken a look at ALFS, this auto builds LFS, I dont know if this will help you, implermenting it to BLFS I know people have added some of BLFS to the alfs scripts.

Oops - shame on me, i didn't check the most obvious source.
Indeed, alfs seems not as dead as i believed and to be exact that thing. I'll start reading...
Thanks a lot!
