Hi there,

First of all the word is my not ma.

Is this server registered with RHN? Did you subscribe for for Redhat support?

Yes there is not such package name createrepo-*.rpm. Did you try yum install createrepo ?

When you say it gives you failed dependency message, let us know what are the messages that you get.

Spell out your words..that text speak garbage isn't nice for anyone to try to read.

And if you want to be able to use yum to update packages in RedHat Enterprise, it's simple..you PAY FOR IT, which then gets you access to the RedHat network, and all the patches/bugfixes/updates/addons you want. Otherwise, you should load CentOS.

not sure if createrepo exists for RHEL - its available from dag iirc for CentOS.

it MIGHT work under RHEL but you WILL run into issues installing CentOS binaries onto redhat systems (dependency hell)

one might ask why you are wanting to build a YUM repo for a rhel box anyway - if you are using redhat you should be paying for RHN if you want to create your own repos, use Centos
