Hi,

Veritas Volume Manager is a File System
Veritas cluster is a set of soft to create a cluster (HeartBeat, File system)

You can have a lot of docs here : http://seer.entsupport.symantec.com/docs/307509.htm

Cheers

Sorry, if this is a foolish question. Is Veritas Volume Manager a licensed product ?
Can I install it on my RHEL 5 machine ? Is it possible to practice Veritas Volume Manager somehow if this is a licensed version.

Actually, I live in Delhi, India. Here, there is no institute where I can practice or learn Veritas Volume Manager.

Thanks for the reply. I know LVM.
I wanted to learn Veritas Volume Manager (and then Veritas Cluster) as of job prospects.

Hmmm VERITAS products are ruled by licencing, so you cannot use them if you do not have a valid licence.
Cheers.
