RAID Set Not Activated kernel 2.6.27.55

Hi

I am new to linux. I am building kernel 2.6.27.55 on 2.6.18-164.el5. I followed following steps

tar -xvf /root/linux-2.6.27.55.tar
ln -s linux-2.6.27.55 linux
ls -l
chown -R root:root linux-2.6.27.55
cd /usr/src/linux
make clean
make menuconfig
#Enable device mapper drivers as modules for raid 1 mirroring
make bzImage && make modules && make modules_install && mkinitrd -v -f /boot/initrd-2.6.27.55.img 2.6.27.55
cp arch/x86_64/boot/bzImage /boot/vmlinuz-2.6.27.55
cp System.map /boot/System.map-2.6.27.55
ln -s /boot/System.map-2.6.27.55 /boot/System.map

#change /boot/grub/grub.conf add following lines in it
title Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server (2.6.27.55)
root (hd0,0)
kernel /vmlinuz-2.6.27.55 ro root=/dev/VolGroup00/LogVol00 rhgb quiet crashkernel=128M@16M
initrd /initrd-2.6.27.55.img
Also make #hiddenmenu in grub.conf file
# And reboot the system with new kernel

I am getting below error:
device_mapper : table :253:0 : mirror : Error creating mirror dirty log
RAIDset " isw_bfccddhdbj_Volume0 " was not activated

Please help

Regards
Ashish

please do not double post in two different forums

a bit more info would help

what directions are you fallowing ( and from where)

what have you already done to try to remedy this ?

and why do you need a non stable non rhel tested kernel on a rhel 5.?(something) server

unless there is a VERY compelling reason to do so I would stay with the red hat provided kernel
installed with yum from RHN .
