Linux server mounting MS Sharepoint (webdav) folder

I am trying to locate anyone who has successfully mounted an MS Sharepoint hosted web/file site to a Linux server? (I am using RHEL but any flavor will do).
I have found that this is a webdav style of connection, though have seen articles that the webdav standards aren't fully adhered to by Microsoft (shocking I know).
I have found and played with the "davfs2" modules but can't get past the authentication stage. I believe this is because davfs2 doesn't support NTLM authentication whereas tcpdump shows an NTLM request being made.
I am to the point of telling my client this isn't possible, but want to make sure there isn't someone here who can tell me of a workable solution.

thanks.

reply to mount webdav sharepoint

In your settings under IIS manager, your sharepoint site, authentication, enable basic authentication.

Another note, in your document library settings, versioning, Require documents to be checked out before they can be edited, set to no. This will allow you to easily copy/replace files in the document library. Versioning still works! Every time you overwrite a file it keeps the old version.

But what I cannot figure out is how to use folders and filenames with spaces in them. I cant mount a url with a space and if I mount the base server and then do an ls, I wont see any folders/files with spaces in them. This is very annoying because my document library is called "Shared Documents".

The only reason I know about the versioning is because I got all this working on my mac. Although I could mount the sharepoint server using the built in webdav client in finder (go, connect to server, http://sharepoint) I could not write to the sharepoint mount. I had to use a client like Cyberduck to allow me to write files to the sharepoint server. Working great!!

Let me know if you figure out spaces please!!

Hey thanks for the update, though, I have moved on from trying to get this to work in our environment. Unfortunately Linux is the bastard child in our environment so I can't devote much time to getting integration working.

As for the spaces, we use a Linux FTP server but our users who are on Windows clients have spaces in everything. I have noticed that webbrowsers convert FTP urls with spaces to %20. Example: ftp://12.12.12.12/Folder%20Name/Sub%20folder/

Not sure if that helps.
