ifconfig does not show any nic card.

Hi,

after the server reboot, system is not able to display any nic card using ifconfig command, I am getting error while starting network services.

/lib/modules/modules.dep: no such file or directory on rhel 5.3.

Please suggest, I am unable to configure NIC.

Try /lib/modules/<kernel_version>/modules dep.

<kernel_version> is that reported by 'uname -r'

Well fill the kernel version into the line in post 2 and see if it's there. Did you update without installing modules?
