how to use wireless card in linux



Hi to All,

I am using Lenovo laptop with dual with Windows XP and RHEL.WIreless card is properly working in Windows XP But same I would like to use in Linux. Can anybody guide me in configuring and using Wireless in RHEL.

I am new buddy in Linux so need your help

I read some docs on that but could not get proper steps in configuring this.

what type of card is it? have you tried searching the forums? i have a feeling you will want to look up ndis wrapper.

If you know the device, you can search on the internet for it.
If you don't find info on that device, try to determine the chipset of it. With that chipset you can see what driver you need or how you can get it to work.

As a last resort I would use ndiswrapper.

What version of RHEL are you using?
Whats the kernel version (use command uname -r to see)?
What is the brand and model of your card?

Its a bit hard to help you if you give very little information.

PS: There is no need to post your messages in red...

lspci command output

This is what I get when i run lspci command.I am using RHEL-4 Linux .What should i do now

Network controller: Intel corporation :Unknown device 4227 (rev 02)
Ethernet controller:Realtek Semiconductor Co.,Ltd.RTL-8139/8139C/8139C+(rev 10)


Linux version is 2.6.9-11.EL.
