Ganglia

Hey folks,
I am currently running nmon on my RHEL5 servers for monitoring.

I am interested in taking a look at Ganglia, and doing a trial run in my test environment with it.

Do you guys have any tips or advice on installing Ganglia?
And what has been your experience with it?

Thanks very much.

Mkono

I use Ganglia on a small cluster of six machines at home, nothing production. All the machines are CLFS machines, so I installed Ganglia from source. Installed easily enough and I haven't had any problems in over a year. You probably already know RRDTool is required to store the data Ganglia collects. One heads up is that Ganglia (the version I used anyway) required version 4 of PHP to provide web display of statistics. But, web display isn't required.
