Question Apache2 Interface Issue

Greetings,

I am running a proxy server using Apache2.

The problem is this:

We have multiple local interfaces running on this system, all are specified within /etc/hosts. This is our own solution which is used in conjunction with name-based virtual hosts. Each interface brings you to the same content.

We have noticed there is a considerable delay when connecting to some interfaces, and no delays at ALL using other interfaces. This is happening on more than one proxy (all of them).

Anyone know a quick answer as to why two interfaces on the same box would be performing entirely differently?

Curious .... I would appreciate any advice .. thanks

I would start by looking through the apache error log((s)if you have some custom logs) when the issue occurs as well as running ethtool -S on the/all suspected interface(s) and check for any errors/collisions.

Smile Apache2 Interface Issue

Error logs only complain about an SSL error, which is something we are aware of (a benign error)

ethtool (run for EACH of the 10 interfaces) shows no errors or collisions of any kind.

I am using four of these servers, and on two of them I have removed prefork and replaced it with worker ... so I will be observing their behavior from here on out .. perhaps it will give me some clues ...

thanks
