I once tried to "clone" a system disk for an IBM Infoprint 4000 using Ghost with Windows (It was an attempt to fix one of a duplex printer set up.) The disk was in the RS2000 F5 controller and contained proprietary software. (Yup! I was a bad lad way back then... But when the print run of customer bills wasn't happening you'll try anything.)
It didn't work... We discovered that IBM had thought of this and had a script which, when the disk was first accessed, checked the disk's Serial No against the one embedded in the software, if they were different it zapped one of the files making it unusable. It took a few days to get a replacement and longer to print the bills on the remaining printer setup. Not really one of the spares that you keep on the shelf because of cost.
You don't have this sort of scenario when you try cloning yours do you?
As a footnote, we did manage to clone a drive for an IBM 3594 tape library which worked a treat, saved having to build the base system from 22 floppy drives ( two hours work!) plus additional software for network adapters and then the library configuration files. Been there - Nightmare!
Confession over.
Play Bonny!
