yellow dog linux on imac g4 (PPC)
hi,
i managed to install yellow dog linux on a imac g4. it seems to be based on arch hence I am chancing this forum for an answer. After the chime I am presented with stage 1 bootstrap which allows me to choose between booting linux, cdrom, network on Open Firmware - choosing linux takes me to stage 2 bootstrap boot>
anyway the reason for this post is I would now like to change the OS to NETBSD as it appears to be more suitable and up-to-date for this computer. This line from the docs seems important
"At present, NetBSD/macppc cannot exist on the same hard drive as Mac OS unless you partition your disk before running the installer." It seems to me that this is also relevant for this situation i.e. "NetBSD/macppc cannot exist on the same hard drive as Linux unless you partition your disk before running the installer".
The question is then, how do I partition the disk in Yellow Dog Linux
I've tried fdisk, cfdisk and pdisk but none of these command line tools are available i.e. command not found
Any ideas?
