Question Why Putty?


Hi: I learning Linux by myself and I just wondering what the purpose to use Putty on centons? I got Patty installed and managed to Run it, but Why should I have to use it? what are the benefits?

PuTTY is a nice GUI application that handles Telnet, SSH, Raw TCP, and serial connectivity in a single Terminal client.

You can do all this without it ... but it is nice having it wrapped up in a single GUI application.

Putty can be used on Windows as well as Linux. If you're going to be sshing from both, using Putty means you only need to learn one app.
