The modern Intel Macs, including the MacBook and MacBook Pro, are essentially PCs. They use a different firmware system (EFI), but it's perfectly happy to emulate a plain old BIOS. They also have slightly odd USB HID based keyboards and touchpads. However, the drivers for these have been in the mainline kernel for some time.
There isn't a special LiveCD for the MacBook because it doesn't need one -- you can use a normal i586 or x86_64 one just fine.
