Arch has a bigger repository then Slackware, so I would assume that Arch has more vanilla apps in its repositories, but I would think, since you have to install most apps from source in Slackware, Slackware is more vanilla in general.

If they both have pretty much the same vanilla programs, does it mean that both distros are equal in terms of programs' stability (if we speak about crashes)?

What has the amount of vanilla programs to do with the stability of an OS?
Of course Slackware is more stable, but not because the amount of vanilla apps, but because it is not a rolling release distro. The amount of patched code in Debian is far higher, but it is also more stable than Arch, for the same reason.

I am talking about programs, not the OS itself. For example the stability of Apache or CUPS. Where is CUPS more stable - in Arch or in Slackware?

CUPS and Apache do not have a history of stability problems, in either distro.
