what does satable kernel and development kernel mean? what is the difference?


Dear friends

I'm new in Linux. When I read about the fundamental concepts of Linux. I saw this terms. Can anybody help me?

Development generally means that it has the latest features but has not been tested fully.

Stable means that it has been around for a while and therefore most issues have been reported and resolved.

If you need the latest features provided by the Development release then choose that one, however I would try and avoid development releases for production systems.
