I also have SuSE 8.1 Personal. When I check what Yast installed I only see samba-client-2.2.5-80. This is client only - yes? Can I use just this to connect to a Windows 98 box or do I need to set up a Samba server? I really regret not buying the Pro version of 8.1. as I would guess that the server is installable thru Yast?

Suse is a good distro! People need to understand that no kernel is perfect thats why the always have new releases to try to make them better. As with all Linux distros it is an open source community to build a better os!
