Hey Gang.... I am using SUSE 9.1 pro on my desktop (I'm not a pro, I'm a nOObetta) and I would like to play mp3's and have files from my mandrake server readily available. I am not sure how to mount a network server. I can get to the server through Konqueror at this address smb://192.168.1.2/homes/mp3 .... but how do I make this mount?
Alex.... thanks for responding, but I do not understnd exacty how to do this. I am lost.... I need step-by-step instructions. Your patience is appreciated...
OK, first of all, Open up a console window and type "su root".
Put in your password.
now go "cd .." twice to get into the / directory.
#now you need to create the folder where the mount will be#
type "cd mnt".
Now type "mkdir mp3" (where myshare is the name of the folder you want).
Type "cd mp3" to active the folder.
now "cd .." back into the / directory.
#now you need to give the command to mount that FS:#
type: "mount -t smbfs //192.168.1.2/homes/mp3 /mnt/mp3/ -o rw
Alright?
I have the command on my computer at home and I`m not at home,
so maybe it is a bit wrong,
Let me know!
