hello all I'm new here
so i just installed a redhat 8.0 distrib on my computer
all the installation has been easy ,no problem i mean...
but my problem is situated a the startup
yes , sendmail is blocking and don't want to start so i've to wait all the time i want in front of my screen it won't change...
i'had tryed to do Ctrl-C to passe the starting up of sendmail but it didn't do anything the only thing i can do is ctrl-alt-delete(kill 6 i think to reboot the system)
i think i say all
if you have any idea of disabling it (sendmail) at startup or booting in safe ??
sorry for my basic english, i usually speak french
so good evening all
omlip
the problem is usually that you have incorrectly changed the name of your computer, and sendmail is having trouble finding it. check it is set properly in /etc/hosts and /etc/sysconfig/network. it is safe to disable it completely though by running "chkconfig --level 3 5 sendmail off" i think.
