Slackintosh on iMac

Today I found an iMac. It has 192 MB of ram and a 400 mhz proccessor. It has usb ports, leading me to believe that it is NewWorld.

I have never installed linux on a mac, but all of my pcs run slackware. This iMac has (as far as I can tell) a single partition and OS9 is installed.

My question is, when installing Slackintosh, can I just delete all of the existing partitions and install just like on PC? Or, does this "yaboot" boot loader require that I keep OS9?

Yaboot does not require that you keep OS9. I booted Debian alone on an IBook with no problems whatsoever.
