running movies on browser


i am using firefox1.0
i want to know how do i play the movies in the browser when i am connected to the net

What is the format of the movie - when I watch Quicktime of Media Player clips or movie trailers I use mplayer, but not as a browser plugin. I don't think Firefox supports that plugin yet.
