rh9 adsl only starts manually

Just found out something weird. For some reason, the ppp0 connection does not come up at boottime (timeout sending pado packets) BUT it does work when logging in and typing adsl-start.

It's a pretty standard RH9 install. However I have another one with pretty much the same configuration that DOES work correctly.

Any suggestions? Is there a difference in adsl-start and the connection made at boottime?

Possibly. Take a look at the two startup scripts to see what they do different.
