I did a full reinstallation of Mandrake 8.2 last night. I used the same two HD partitions that I had my initial installation on after wiping them. I did the non-expert installation and added some software to the installation list that didn't get installed the first time around (OpenOffice, for example). Everything seemed to install just fine. My problem is that everything is slow as molasses in January now. Loading Mandrake takes +/- 3 minutes. Starting OpenOffice Writer takes a full minute. My HD isn't thrashing, though... it just takes forever to do things. Any ideas?
