I downloaded the last distro of Peanut Linux, put all the files on my laptop and now I'm trying to install it, but I got stuck in the middle of installing.
I've already read the
http://www.ibiblio.org/peanut/INSTALL$.TXT
but this doesn't seem to tell anything about my problem. This is what I've been doing :
- I booted my laptop in MS-DOS mode and started ram.bat.
- For some reason I had to do a mount /dev/hda1 /DOS, otherwise the peanut.gz2 file couldn't be found.
- I created a 800 MB Linux partition (EXT2) on my HD.
- I started "stage1", then chose "EXT2" but I got a reply that a file "/tmp/device" is missing!? Choosing EXT3, UMSDOS or the Raiser-thing (what the hell is this anyway?) gives the same result.
What am I doing wrong???
FYI : my laptop has a 4GB harddisk, 48MB RAM and has NO CD-ROM. I now have 2 partitions : the first has Win98 on it and the second (which I made EXT2-type) is empty.
HELLLLLLPPPP!!!
