Question Peanut Linux 'how-to'

I am new to linux so I need good instructions to get started. The 'how-to' that came with the Peanut Linux is not clear at all to me. Is there somewhere to find some clear instructions to a linux virgin? Or would I be better off with some other distribution that is better for the Windows user to learn on?

Try Mandrake. It's about the easiest of the distro's. Or RedHat.

Both feature graphical installers, and pretty much run themselves. In fact, the Mandrake Installer is a LOT like the WinXP install............

Someone, at some point will suggest that you try Lycoris (aka Redmond) Linux. I would suggest that you only consider this option if you want to have no challanges what-so-ever. If you want to at least have something that can respectably be called a Linux OS, then go for Mandy.

Sorry for the bias there... I'm a Mandy/Slack man myself!

Peanut Linux is based on Slackware. You might find some useful docs/help at the Slackware website, and/or various Slackware forums like the one at LinuxQuestions. Peanut is a nice, but stripped down distro. As a I would recommend a full sized distro so you can see most of what is available to with GNU/Open-source software.

Additionally I would also recommend going with one of the distro's that has an installer that leads you along step by step a little better. Linux-Mandrake, Suse, and Redhat are good examples. Probably in that order. Next month Xandros is expected to come out, which might be very good as well
