PCLinuxOS successfully ran, under default settings, using my Princeton EO14 monitor--which MEPIS 3.x could not do and which Knoppix could do only in failsafe mode. (The monitor isn't even listed on Princeton's site.) I guess I'll switch to PCLOS soon. (Not sure which version of PCLOS it is, offhand, but I apparently burned the CD on August 17, 2006.)
Wireless? I'll believe that when I see it. I tried PCLOS before, and the reason I didn't keep it was because my wireless network didn't run.
PCLinuxOS 2007 Test Releases 2 and 3 are the first Linux distributions that have been able to flawlessly connect to my wireless router using WPA encryption. I'm currently using .92 on my laptop hard drive installation, and it connects ok with an open network, and usually ok with WEP, but I could never get it to connect with WPA enabled. This is with the Intel ipw2200.
As of 2007 TR2 and TR3, it works perfectly. I prefer CLI for configuration, hence my addiction to Slackware, but PCLinuxOS made wireless so simple with the new release that it's literally a matter of clicking the SSID and entering the WPA password.
What if you are not using encryption? We haven't got it, because the last time we tried to enable WEP, something went wrong, and all computers but the main one were locked out.

So far, with the 2007 test releases, it's been able to connect to any wireless network regardless of encryption type, or with no encryption.
