Thumbs down openmosix: patch problems

I recently downloaded 2.4.26 openmosix kernel patch
and put it in kernel source tree.
But when patching, it gives error like:

patch unexpectedly ends in middle of line
patch contains garbage, etc,etc
the solution is
first bunzip that file and then put it in kernel tree
and then try tp patch it.

It will run successfully this time.
