ok, so ive decided on Tiny (because of the large range of apps available). Ive got to the root prompt, and have set up my disks accordingly using cfdisk (hda1 -> /boot hda2 -> swap hda3 -> /home hda4 /), all as the 'linux' type (is this ext2?), except the swap. when i try to mount them under /mnt i get a big printout of the hard drive allocation tables.
# mkdir /mnt/home
# mount /dev/hda3 /mnt/home
...
.... error messages .....
....
Transaction block size = 512
VFS: Can't find a valid MSDOS filesystem on dev 03:04,
mount: you must specify the filesystem type

funnily enough though, /boot mounts (and i can see all the old files when i ls /mnt/boot).
1. why is it trying out MSDOS filesystems when the partitions are Linux (when i reboot and re-open the partition table in cfdisk its exactly the same as before).
2. Any fixes?
