I want to find an equivalent in Linux. Mine is MontaVista.
I need to get the count of soft errors, hard errrors, etc. as well as the Vendor name, Size and Serial Number. I couldn't find any Linux utility to get this.
Well, MontaVista isn't necessarily a complete Linux... it's designed for embedded apps. So... it could be very limited with regards to what is available for the general masses.
Things to look at:
sysfs (that thing mounted at /sys... though the content will VARY greatly... newer is better almost always)
procfs (because people threw a lot of stuff there prior to sysfs)
scsiinfo or scsi_info, this is the one you probably want... but again, might not be available for MontaVista (you can always try to build it).
