I haven't been on this forum for a while but now I'm back and I have a big problem with kubuntu.
When I try to use the try kubuntu without any changes to my computer option of the CD it doesn't load. I can hear it trying to load from my CD drive but it doesn't and the screen goes pink and black.
I have tried using safe graphics mode but it doesn't work either kde says it is loading but it just stops and goes blank.
I don't know what is happening but I think it may be down to my computer or driver problems.
I haven't tried to install kubuntu I don't want to.
My PC specs are
Pentium D 3.00Ghz
Nvidia GeForce 6700 XL with 128MB ram
4GB 800Mhz RAM 1 GB per slot
Original RAM was 566Mhz 1GB 512MB per slot
800Mhz FSB As said above 800Mhz ram to match FSB.
And that is mostly what I know.
Anybody who knows what might be wrong please help.
But I should mention that it's a CD-R so it's not rewritable and I verified the disc with imgburn and the check CD for errors option of the CD and my CD writing software on my laptop verified the disc and the MD5 sums were the same no errors were found.
Well I've tried 3 different discs and nothing different happened.
I still get the same pink and black screen when it tries to load.
I think I should mention that the first and second discs I tried were the 64-bit versions of kubuntu but the third one was a version meant for standard i386 PC architecture and none of them worked.
I tried 3 different discs with 2 different versions and all of them didn't work.
