KDE Neon on an iMac

Just wondering if KDE Neon installs OK on an iMac? It's a 2012 model. Does the downloadable iso file work for both Mac and PC?

Thanks.

Literally your thread title in a search engine.

First 2 results:

I read both those search queries prior to coming here and they're pretty uninformative. I don't think you read them - you were just being presumptuous.

In the first search query there was no concrete reply as to whether it installs OK on an iMac. The first guy in the thread said Ubuntu installs OK so KDE neon "should". So iMacs accommodate both Gnome and Plasma equally? That's not a concrete answer. The second guy said he'd try it out and never said how it went.

In the second search query the guy said it installed OK. The responders gave answers in a foreign language that looked uninformative.

So yes, I did my research and came here to see if there is more evidence of KDE neon installing on an iMac and the question still remains. Even more specifically, does anyone have any concrete experience of it running OK. I'm pretty sure you don't.

I never claimed I read them. I just told you that you should search before asking.
And tell us about it, otherwise we're bound to duplicate your work.
I am glad to hear that you did do your research. You'd be surprised how many don't.
But you failed to tell us, so that's on you.
You also failed to tell us what conclusions you drew from what you found, another important hint for people trying to help.
Several "How to ask questions (on a technical forum)" articles exist on the WWW. I won't insult you by posting links, but I recommend you do some research and read them.

Sounds like the correct answer.
Or at least a hint in the reight direction: ask KDE Neon people how much it differs from vanilla Ubuntu under the hood and if one should expect pitfalls.

I don't really see what the DE has to do with it, except that both require hardware graphics accelaration iirc.

Well there you have it! Hooray!

And you are absolutely correct.
But - don't you think someone with concrete experience would have come forward already? After a week?

Mate, you just want an argument. This is unproductive. Do you have experience with KDE neon on an iMac? No? Move on!

Once again, a user chooses to respond to the argumentative part of my message, and not to the part that contains viable information.

Back to the beginning: it is not unreasonable to ask people to show the effort they put in before posting.
You are now trying to twist this into something else - shame on you!

And yes, I will move on now*, but not because you told me so.

* unless, of course, you choose to actually deal with the topic, or post something even more ridiculous.
