Smile installing two or more linux distributions

Hi
I installed SuSE linux 9.1 in one ext3 partition.
Then I installed Mandrake Linux 10.0 in another ext3 partition.
But suse isn't in lilo os list.
what should I write in /etc/lilo.conf.

Thanks,
Mohammad

If I'm thinking right, there should be an entry in your lilo.conf similar to:
Code:
image=/boot/vmlinuz-2.0.36-3     # the kernel image
             label=linux              # prompt label(what you'll see when lilo starts)
             root=/dev/hda7 # location of root filesystem
             read-only
you would need to add this all again with settings for your suse partition.

Ok first off you need to mount the suse partition in mandrake by editing your /etc/fstab
Add something like this

Quote:
/dev/hda2 /suse ext3 defaults 1 2
reboot

then edit your /etc/lilo.conf

add the appropriate lines pointing to the location of the kernel of suse which would be

/suse/boot

Quote:
image = /suse/boot/vmlinuz-2.6.7
root = /dev/hda2
label= Suse
read-only
password="mypassword"
then run lilo and make sure no errors are returned and after that you'll have suse again
