Install OpenOffice 1.9.100 in Gentoo

Hi
today my venture is to install Openoffice in Gentoo.

preferBLY i would like precompiled binaries to install (quicker)
I started with openoffice linux install (RPM files)
I ran rpm2targz and got a number of tar files but core05 file fails to extract some files
file does not exist error

(I used to use Mandrake and these RPMS are the same ones i used so they work.)

I'm downloading latest source code but historically i have lots of trouble fixing oo dependencies for compiling

unless
is there a way to get emerg to install Openoffice 1.9.x from source?
