Question How can i get alsa to work properly on my nforce MB?

PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm desperate!!!!!!!!!!!

I have a Asus A7N8X Deluxe GOLD/UAY MB and I'm having problems configuring alsa under Gentoo 2004.0. I've managed to install alsa, the sound plays but i can't get my center/LFE speakers to play (I have a 5.1 analog sound system), I have tried to unmute the center/LFE chanel in alsamixer but still i couldn' hear anything from the center speaker and the subwoofer (this motherboard has 6 sound connectors and i tried them all, I mean I literaly plugged the center/LFE plug in every connector exept the SPDIF and tried to unmute the chanel but still i couldn't hear anything), i can only use 4 speakers from my sound system, and i don't know why (i follwed the instructions exactly as presented in the alsa website and in the gentoo website - sorry but I can't post any links because this is my first post), and I also get some weird background noises when i'm not playing anything witch is very odd because the sound is clear in Windows XP.
i have the folowing .asoundrc file:

#########################
pcm.nforce-hw {
type hw
card 0
}

pcm.!default {
type plug
slave.pcm "nforce"
}

pcm.nforce {
type dmix
ipc_key 1234
slave {
pcm "hw:0,0"
period_time 0
period_size 1024
buffer_size 4096
rate 44100
}
}

ctl.nforce-hw {
type hw
card 0
}
############################

My configuration is:
AMD Athlon XP 2000+
Asus A7N8X Deluxe Gold/UAY
768MB RAM
80 GB HDD Maxtor
Nvidia Geforce 2 Ti
Gentoo Linux 2004.0 (with a 2.4.22 kernel and alsa 1.0.3) and Windows XP
I almost forgot, why is it that sometimes movies are playing a bit faster when i use alsa sound with mplayer?

Thank you in advance for your help!!!!

###############################

****In case you didn't understand what my problem was ************
I mean in linux (with alsa, with oss is the same) I literally have 2 connectors for surround speakers, 1 connector for front speakers and no connector for center/LFE speakers. In Windows the onboard soundcard works just fine i'm able to use all 6 chanels.

################################
P.S.:Please excuse my english.Thank You.

I have managed to partially resolve my problem by tweaking the .asoundrc config file. This is what I've done:
pcm.nforce {
type route
slave.pcm "surround51"
slave.channels 6
ttable.0.0 1
ttable.1.1 1
ttable.0.2 1
ttable.1.3 1
ttable.0.4 0.5
ttable.1.4 0.5
ttable.0.5 0.5
ttable.1.5 0.5
}
ctl.nforce{
type hw
card 0
}

Basically this configuration of the .asoundrc file just copies the two input channels to the surround channels and for the center/lfe channel it mixes the two channels. But by doing so I don't really have surround 5.1, all I have is just stereo... at least I think so.
