Post Enter your "wanted system" for the best operating system ever.!!

As you all can read in my other highly-growded thread "the perfect linux distro", it has been truly nice to find all these people discuss about the perfect distro.

But how about for the sake of the peoples need of an personal computer, I want YOUR (all who read this and has an opinion to operating systems) written well-informed wanted system., so that people can see what other wants from a complete (100%) operating system and maybe give the world a conclusion for the greatest system ("ever built") which just aren't there yet.

And please, when you write your own, do NOT use names on softwares, only how the system operate in theoretically.

So please do only send ONE article for each user, to make it easier to have an overview. Hope you’ll understand.

Hi all,

Two thinks, first the computer/distribution must have a pack manager that lists every program installed on the computer form the most basic to the most advanced. Something like install sheild, it doesn't have to be that brand name, but it must function like that, must be part of or work with the package manager.

The second thing, is their most be a website that list links of where to down load all free drivers, software, etc., for all companies. This site must be something users can update themselves. So if they have to search off site for something, they could update the site. This site would be simular to the distibution iso listing on this site, but also have a "worked with" listing.

Here is a rough example:

Linux Drivers
-Printers
--Companies
---HP
----HP 5550
Driver:
fakeprint.zip

Info:
Ditributions:
Mandrake Fedora III vectorLinux amigo Add New Distibution
yes unknown no yes n/a
Vote Change Vote Change Vote Change

The formating is not right, it would be in nmioce columns.

hopefully this would help newbies like me.

Grae
