Does Fedora = Redhat?

I'm pretty new to the linux communty, and am currently downloading the fedora core iso's. Are the two distros so similar that redhat questions relate to the fedora distro?

Red Hat stopped support for their freely downloadable version. It has been taken over by a community of users / developers, many of them are the same people who are developing Red Hat.

Yes, they are extremely similar. FC1 has even been called RH10.
