Create a Linux distro using Launchpad PPA repositories

Would it be possible to use PPAs to create an entire Linux distro? I suspect it certainly would be possible, but I need your opinions. How stable would such a distro be? I want the latest and greatest, which is why I need a distro that is constantly updated.

How good overall would PPAnux be?

Why create a new distro when theres existing ones already which do what you want...

To be honest the only way you'll ever have the latest and greatests and be on the cutting edge is if you start getting the software yourself (nightlys, betas etc) - I don't know of any distrobution or tool which provides this kind of "up to date" system; however there are lots which update very regularly; and allow you to get almost to this state of newness

** WARNING ** - Why do you want the most brand new software? You do realise its likely to be the most buggy right? - ** /WARNING **

Maybe gentoo would be a good fit for you (it was for me) or something else, but without explaining your reasons its a little more difficult to help.

Hi,

Linux From Scratch (the forum you posted your question) will not do what you want.

I'll ask a moderator to move this thread to a more appropriate location to give it the attention it needs/deserves.
