Configure nvidia problem

Installing the driver went fine (nuf to find on that topic on this forum, thanx) After install I had to configure the videomode so I did.
Set the resolution to 1600 to 1200 (got a big screen) after that you get to the part where it test your config and you can move the sreen so it lines out (virtual desktop I believe) Well since I did that I can't get it right anymore. It displays fine but when I'm in KDE my screen is way to big and I have to scroll to get to all the parts. It does says 1600 x 1200 in the config. VirtualDesktop is set at 1120 something and I can seem to change that. Is there an easy way to fix this strange problem?

Exclamation Try this

Try setting your monitor through the Mandrake Control Center. Click on hardware and then 'change your screen resolution'. You may need to setup your 'x server' too. Do test your settings before saving though. It's not easy to fix in command line.

Hope this helps.

XFree86 4.x doesn't use X Servers, it uses discrete driver modules. It's fairly easy to fix from the command line, just bug out of X (you may have to reboot in runlevel 3 before you can quit X completely), open up /etc/X11/XF86Config (or XF86Config-4 depending on what your distro calls it) do a search on "Virtual" and then comment it out (or delete it altogether).
