apt-get for mandrake? where can I find more...

I heard from a friend that there is such a thing as apt-get for Mandrake, but I've looked around and can't find anything about it...does it exist, and if so, where can I go to get it/learn more/ that kind of thing? I have a heck of a time trying to install dependencies (especially libraries, which never seem to work), and it would be nice to have something that would take care of that.

(I don't have access to a fast connection, or I would try something like debian or gentoo, but I heard they are hard to install, and I'm still a big newbie when it comes to linux...)

Thanks for your help!!

Kristen
