You are the very first person I have seen describe PopOS as unstable!
I like Sparky Linux Game Over edition myself, but my taste in and selection of, games is VERY different from yours. I use Manjaro with an updated kernel as my daily driver, and with the gaming optimizations and packages installed (and configured more manually than is required on Sparky) it does about as well.
it depends on the games you want to play with. Unfortunately the games I like do not work on linux.
Anyway, steam supports [partially] ubuntu (for example).
Arch is certainly not intended to be stable, if you want something that doesn't change on you avoid any "rolling" distro, which likely includes any arch derivative.
My idea of gaming is playing Double Canfield solitaire in pysolFC, but a web search for "best linux for gaming" will turn up a number of articles and reviews. This article looks like a good starting point.

thanks guys for the replies.
pop!_os coredumped all the time, i installed Garuda and it has been solid so far.
my Arch hasnt crashed/coredumped in these few years i have used it. one Arch installation were destroyed by user error :P
one problem were conky, i had to compile it (on Garuda) to have lua support.
other problem is Plank, so far i haven't succeeded to get it to work.
ill try to get it to work nevertheless.
i am not sure if it is possible to use Arch repo's with Garuda?
i have themed/modded my Garuda to look the way i like it, next step is installation of Lutris/Wine/Steam and diablo 2 resurrected.
Update :
Steam were installed successfully, just downloading GTA V and cyberpunk

Reason: update
I do my general gaming on Debian honestly. With Bottles & Steam I can run most anything I personally like with great success. Any instability is in the game, not the OS because Debian is a rock.
