vim for code, set color for constants

In the murphy.vim file there is a line starting with:

Code:
hi Constant term=underline ctermfg-LightGreen // etc
When the ctermfg-LightGreen is changed I never see any changes in the display of the code. I make a change then enter : colorscheme murphy. (Actually, saved it to a new file and used that name.) Maybe this does not do what I am thinking. When writing C++ code I would like to see constants in some special color. How is that done?

I haven't done this, before, but perhaps this will help?
