Update gtk

Hi

In suse linux 10.1 pc i installed the firefox 3 and i try to run the firefox
#~/firefox/firefox

But it shows the message
"Update the gtk libraries. your have pc have gtk 2.8
Its supprots gtk-+2.10 or newer"

Then I download the gtk-+2.10.tar.bz2
#tar xjvf gtk-+2.10.tar.bz2

#rpm -qa gtk
#gtk-+2.10.0

Whenever i run firefox the issue is going..

you do not "update"
SUSE Linux 10.1
( there was a name change in the NON FREE !!! enterprise linux
it is now SELD -- SUSE Enterprise Linux Desktop)
or the other
OpenSUSE 10.1

they are unsupported

you install the FREE OpenSUSE 13.1
or the NOT free
SELD 11 sp3
-- "SUSE Enterprise Linux Desktop- service pack 3 "

And it's not a good idea to install software from outside your distro's repository unless you are fairly experienced. Get an up-to-date version of OpenSUSE (13.1) and you'll get an up-to-date Firefox (version 25!)
