unable to anonymously mmap 33554432

Hi,

When I try to use K3b to burn a cd or DVD I get the following message:

:-{ unable to anonymously mmap 33554432 Resources temporarily unavailable
Fatal error at startup: Resources temporaraly unavalable
Error while creating ISO image

and then it stops and my DVD/CD gets ejected.

I can burn using graveman, but that one can't burn the type of CD/DVD's that I need.

I recently installed a new kernel, and I use FC6 with the kernel and a few programs from FC7. I don't know if that helps.

I tried using some of the guides that a previouse subscriber had given, but they didn't help. so that's why I'm starting a new one with basically the same title/problem.

thanks for your time
//Santiago

In K3B, go to settings -> configure K3B -> writing -> advanced and set Manual writing buffer size to something between 10 to 16 Mb.

Also read bug description (see end of this) http://qa.mandriva.com/show_bug.cgi?id=26371

Running as root possible cause

I launched k3b from a root console and ran into this error. It worked correctly as a regular user.

Exclamation Protect your machine!

Only use root as needed with sudo or su - not all the time.
Alway run a iptables and selinux and never leave your root passd blank.

Hope this helps
