Panel that display on all monitors and works with XFCE

Hi there, I am on the look out for a panel that display on all monitors. I must admit that I like how Windows does it: it has a taskbar with all the information on the main display and another one with simplified information (start button, open apps, and tasktray) on all the others. Is there something that mimics this functionality for Linux (and eventually integrates with XFCE)?

Thanks

The Xfce panel should display on all monitors attached to the computer without doing anything, I would think. What are you seeing now?

doesn't the xfce panel allow you to create as many panels as you want, with whatever you want on on any monitor?

Yes, the possible number of panels, if not infinite, is certainly more than the number of monitors available. And each has its own properties, and widgets/items. The default is two, but that's easily changed, as is the location of the panels.

the XFCE panel can stretch across all monitors (can span across monitors), but in the output one can select only one monitor. If you choose span monitors it is stretching across all monitors. What I am looking for is kind of "duplicate panel" functionality.

yes it does. But when you want to change something you need to make the same change to all the others manually... I am looking for something that is set once and can be displayed on all monitors (if possible... if not I will live with what I have now )

Did you get anywhere with this?

Did you get anywhere with this? I'd also like to have just one panel that replicates, not that requires tedious updating of all panels. Other fora suggest all sorts of clunky workarounds but nothing that does this one obvious option, that I wish was default behaviour.

Unfortunatelly no nothing that can be useful...

The fact that the USB docks are so clunky made me also not follow any of the workarounds: overlapping panels when external display is not recognized is not so funny.

I mean what we have is solid for stationary solutions. But when one has a laptop that plugs in docks both at home and at work, with different monitors setup, than we have a problem my friend...

Unhappy An obvious ommision

Vielen Dank für dein antwort.

Yes, it seems like it might be relatively trivial to implement; I have no idea why it isn't available. Laptop use and different external monitor placements must be quite common these days, even for users of older/second hand equipment who might choose Xubuntu, like me.

My monitor setups are usually one above the other so the 'span' option is no good either.

Would it be possible to set up multiple users perhaps, each different user assigned to a different monitor and obviously with his / her own panel setup? Just reaching here ...
