Overlapping figures in Xfig

In a 2D Xfig drawing with non-overlapping figures, I'm having the problem that additional overlapping figures gets hidden underneath the others.

Using the Align function, I can make them overlap, but as soon as I save or exports to gif/jpeg/png.. they disapper behind the others.

All figures are solid/filled. Some, which are pattern filled, gets converted to solids when exporting.

I need this finished today, so pls cast a light on the shades..
