moving main menu to the bottom of page

hi

I want to move the main menu; that is at the top of page; to the bottom..

Is that possible?

Since i am habituated in using windows my mind directly focuses to the bottom of the page.

What GUI environment are you using? Gnome? KDE? XfCE? The more details, the better.... You should be able to right click on the toolbar and move it....

If you're new to Linux, then you may be unfamiliar to the concept that you aren't limited to one desktop environment like in windows. I have not used Ubuntus unity desktop environment yet, so can't help you out, but my impression of it and gnome 3 (a different desktop environment) is that customization of the desktop environment is limited greatly. You may be better suited to a different desktop environment, like kde, which by default has it's panel, 'taskbar' if you will; at the bottem.

Is the clock in the middle at the top? If so you're using unity/gnome-shell which as Knightron said is limiting and is the reason I recently switched to KDE. His post says everything you need to know about that.

If the clock is not in the middle you're using old gnome so should be able to right click on the bar somewhere and untick "lock taskbar" (or similar - can't remember the exact wording) and right click on the menu icon and unlock that too then it should let you use the middle button (click and drag) to move the menu. Then reverse the locking as it saves space and stops you moving things by mistake.

I am using ubunti 11.04.. The clock is at the right side. No ''lock taksbar'' option when i right click. In fact no options at all on right-click event..
