Question KDE Help Center search doesn't work.

Is it just me or does the KDE Help Center's search feature just not work?

I've tried on several machines using different distributions (with KDE 3.5.x-ish) with no success.

For example, I can browse to the KWrite help page using the Contents tab. I know the page exists. I know it's installed. However, when I type "KWrite" in the search field and click Search, I don't get anything useful.

I get some lines like the following for every selected item in the "Scope":
Code:
khc_htsearch.pl --docbook --indexdir=/home/jim/.kde/share/apps/khelpcenter/index/ --config=kde_application_manuals --words=kwrite --method=and --maxnum=5 --lang=en
But the search fails to find a page for KWrite or anything else.

Yes, I've clicked the "Build Search Index" button, checked every last one of them and built them all. Yes, I have the htdig package is installed too.

I don't think there's any entries in the KDE Help Centre for kwrite. There's some info available on the command line. Open a terminal and type: kwrite --help for a list of options.

You missed it entirely.

1. As stated, the help page can be browsed to. Which means the help topic exists.
2. My question is about getting the search functionality of KDE Help Center working. I was using KWrite as an example to show a simple case of the search feature not working.
