installing kde 3.5.4

how do i go about installing the kde 3.5.4 packages please.
do i have to uninstall all the previous set or can i install over the top please.

i am using slackware 10.2 with 2.6.18.8 kernel and the kde set is all in tgz format, so i can use the installpkg command.

thanks in advance mark.

if you have kde installed already, use `upgradepkg`, otherwise pkgtool or installpkg will work.
