Installing Fedora 8 from DVD image on hard drive

hi fellows, i already have a FC5 running on my machine with Windows XP on the hda1, i want to upgrade my FC5 to Fedora 8. I have Fedora 8 as a DVD Iso file on my primary hard disk. Can anyone give any help on how to do it.

You need to burn the iso to a DVD disk and boot from it. It is a chicken and egg scenario to try to boot into upgrade mode using the iso image on the Windows partition. The installer supports HTTP and NFS installs, but you can't get either to work when the image is on the windows partition and you're booting the machine into Linux.

If the windows partition is FAT32 then u can install using the hard disk image kept there.

i tried it yesterday night and i got success in booting and loading the Fedora 8 installer but then i terminated the process as i had to go to bed.
it was simple. I edited /boot/grub/grub.conf to include the bootloading mechanism and it worked.
