How do you "find" a file from Gnome 3 desktop?

I understand that there is a search block there, but how do you do things like specify only certain file sizes or types or modification dates or subdirectories?

Do you have to go into the terminal?

Hi there,

Yes, there is a search option there but I don't think so it is more powerful and have more features that you can get from command line. If you want to search file with specific size, inode, date modified etc then I would suggest to use find command on the terminal.

You can find the switches related to find using. In the terminal type the following: man find

I did find the "Search for Files" program in the repository... works just like it always has... set parameters (file sizes, dates, types, etc.) from a GUI interface.
