how do I make some programs open the same size each time in windowmaker?

Hello!

I really like windowmaker, but I have a few small gripes with it. I want certain programs to open the same size each time. For instance, I want gpicview to be the same size whenever I use it. Right now, it opens a little window for some pictures, and when I open it again for others, it will use the whole desktop. Is there a config file somewhere that I can alter to force it to stay the same size every time it's opened?

I can't get wmdrawer to use any icons for mousepad. I've tried several, both xpm and png, but it just shows a question mark. Clicking the icon does open the program, though. Is this just a quirk with this particular program?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hello!

Maybe the window attributes can be set in WMWindowAttributes?

What are the sizes of the icons? Have you tried using 32x32 icons?

i've used windowmaker for a short while...
it's still under active development. i think i remember better graphic formats support in some recent version, so which version on which distro might be relevant.

Where is this file located? I'm willing to try editing it.

As far as the second problem; I've tried different icon sizes, different icons from various sets-including ones that belong to gnome, and window manager-agnostic(so the description said), and the only one that won't work is mousepad.

Please visit the link recommended by ondoho for information on where to find WMWindowAttributes.

Hmm, strange that icons won't work for mousepad. Have you tried copying the contents of a functioning icon and changing the name of the application to mousepad (to see if it's the name of the application that prevents the icon from being displayed)?

I'm still trying to find info on the window sizes, but the other problem has been solved--the hard way. My hard drive went bust, and now everything is brand-new, so the icon is working. I wonder, though, if the fact I had fluxbox on the old drive and then put windowmaker on it didn't mess something up.Fluxbox had a few quirks of it's own, which is why I went back to windowmaker. Everything now is working fine on this fresh install.
Thanks for everyone's suggestions. I'm going to go tramping through windowmaker's documentation now; see what I can find about the window sizes. Thanks again!
